Travel Articles. The latest in Travel Apps
I moved from Sydney to Melbourne just over a year ago. Apart from a handful of visits as a child, this was a new city and there was so much to explore and experience. I didn’t know where to start.
Was this laneway going to lead to me a really cool hidden bar? Or was I about to discover a dead-end full of garbage bins and rats? Which streets held the secrets of Melbourne’s hidden history? More importantly, in a city known for their food, how was I to choose between the plethora of restaurants this city had to offer? And what happens outside of Melbourne’s CBD when I want to escape the hustle and bustle?
I decided to take things into my own hands and find some travel guides that would help me plan out some walking tours and offer recommendations. This is when I stumbled across a great app called GPSMyCity … little did I know, a few months later I would have my own travel guides featured on this app.
GPSMyCity is a fantastic travel app that works just like your own personal travel guide. There are thousands of travel articles listed for cities all over the world for you to choose from. Choose from Sight Seeing Walks, to Discovery Walks and you can even create your own Custom Walk depending on what you want to see. The app embeds the route, maps and descriptions straight from the original blog post. This allows you to download it straight to your phone for easy access without ever needing internet connection once you are travelling. I don’t know about you, but for me, it completely takes away the hassle of constantly trying to look up that old blog post you stumbled across once, searching for an address and then working out the best route, the hard work is done for you and you won’t get stuck when that wifi signal drops out.
Each article is a separate guide you can download for free, allowing you to access the guides without internet service. If you are looking for a more in depth guide of a city it is totally worth it to upgrade to the full version for a small fee.
SPECIAL OFFER:
Excitingly, because a collection of my posts will now be featured on GPSMyCity, I am offering FREE upgrades on 2 of my most popular guides.
